The Sultan Alam Shah Museum in Shah Alam, Selangor is, for all sense and purpose, the Selangor state museum.
It was officially declared opened in 1989 by the DYMM Al Marhum Sultan Salahuddin Abdul Aziz Shah ibni Al Marhum Sultan Hisamuddin Alam Shah , the 8th Sultan of Selangor, and is named after the 6th Sultan of Selangor, DYMM Al Marhum Sultan Hisamuddin Alam Shah (1937-1942, 1945-1960)
