The Sungai Lembing Museum is located in the small settlement similarly named, about 40km or so from the City of Kuantan. Once upon a time, Sungai Lembing was a thriving mining settlement, but since the decline of the mining industry, has reverted to what it once was.
The museum located at the end of the settlement’s ‘main street’ bears testimony to what Sungai Lembing was at the height of its economic importance but will unlikely regain, unless new deposits of gold, tin or other minerals are discovered within the vicinity.
Til then, the museum will retain its status as the main attraction of that once thriving mining community of Sungai Lembing.
