Mural – Pengkalan Kubor

The monkey on the bicycle is no ordinary monkey. In rural Kelantan, the monkey is a valuable animal, for it does its fair share to contribute to the family’s upkeep by harvesting coconuts.

This mural was discovered on a wall at the Duty Free Zone, Pengkalan Kubor, a border town in Kelantan on the north east of Peninsular Malaysia. The town of Pengkalan Kubor lays opposite the Thai town of Bak Tai, both of whom lie on the banks of the Golok river.
