The Cenotaph : In Memoriam

This plaque is in memory of 80,000 Asian labourers and the 12,600 POWs of the Allied forces recorded to have perished in the building of the Thailand-Burma Railway during the Second World War (1939-1945). The actual number could be more but in times of war, no one could be certain of the actual number.
