A Mosque’s Courtyard : Wilayah Persekutuan Mosque

This courtyard of the Masjid Wilayah Persekutuan is a picture of peace and serenity. Built between 1998 and 2000, it was officially declared open to the public in October 2000 by the His Majesty the 12th DYMM Yang Di Pertuan Agong, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin ibni Al Marhum Tuanku Syed Putra Jamalulail.

Able to house about 17,000 worshippers at any one time, the mosque is located at what used to be the Jalan Duta Administrative Complex of the Federal Government. Its design, a mix between Ottoman and Malay architectural styles, is heavily influenced by the Blue Mosque of Istanbul, Turkey.
