The Crescent and Five-pointed Star take centre stage in the Johor state flag. At Laman Mahkota Istana Bukit Serene, the Crescent and The Five-pointed Star also take centre stage. Istana Bukit Serene is one of the royal palaces of the Johor Royal Family and is by itself a landmark of Johor Bahru.
