Cheng Ho of China

Located in historical city of Melaka is a a mural of famed Chinese Muslim diplomat, explorer, mariner and fleet admiral, Ma He or otherwise known as Admiral Cheng Ho (1371-1435). He is also known by his conferred name of Zheng He (as conferred by Emperor Yongle of the Ming Dynasty (1402-1424)), Admiral Cheng Ho commanded 7 expeditionary voyages to South East Asia, South Asia, Western Asia and East Africa. Besides being accredited for spreading the Islamic faith during his voyages, Admiral Cheng Ho is also revered by the Chinese community that there are temples dedicated to his name.
